Golf equipment: what
do you need?
Golf equipment does not
refer to Golf balls and Golf clubs alone but many
other tools as well. Golf equipment includes golf
shafts, golf bags, ball markers, golf carts,
gloves, towels, shoes, pitchfork and tees among
other things. Purchasing the right kind of
equipment is important for every sport but one has
to be extra careful while purchasing golf
equipment, as they are quite expensive as well.
Golf equipment
especially golf clubs can be very expensive
therefore if you are a beginner it would be a good
idea to purchase a set of used golf clubs. You can
later replace your used set of golf clubs with a
new set later if required. Some basic information
on different golf equipment is as

- Golf Clubs: As a
player you cannot carry more than fourteen clubs
at one point of time. Clubs are usually classified
into three types, woods putters, irons and wedges.
Woods are used for long distance shots. The putter
is the most essential club and is used to hit the
ball into the cup from a very close distance.
Irons are also used for long distance shots but
for shorter distances as compared to woods. Irons
are also used to hit a ball out from a rough spot.
For smaller distances you can use wedges.
- Golf Balls: Golf
balls must meet certain specific measurements in
terms of weight and diameter. Golf balls can be
made of a variety of materials. Golf balls made

more and stop easily. Golf balls are priced

- Tees: Tees
appear a lot like nails with a small plastic or
wood head. The basic purpose of a tee is to

carried in golf bags that could be made out of
leather or nylon. The bag contains special pockets
for various golfing equipments. They usually have
a shoulder strap as well as a hand strap to be
carried around. Golf bags can also be harnessed to
a golf cart.
Golf equipment also
